Default GH w/ Parker Special Steel Barrels

I recently acquired a wonderful original GH grade, 12 gauge, #1 frame w/ 28" barrels, complete with Hang Tags. The barrel flats are marked PS. TPS indicates that 808 12 gauge guns w/ 28" barrels were made and some 4,291 guns of all gauges were made w/ PS barrels or quality code PSS2. However, the Parker Gun Serialization book, p.63, indicates that only 2,371 total guns were marked with Parker Special Steel barrels or quality code P2. My question is why the discrepancy between these sources? Which one is correct?

Therefore, how many GH, 12's w/ Parker Spec. Steel barrels were made, and further, how many 12's, w/ # 1 frames, w/ these barrels were made? Is there any way to really know? Any educated guesses?

That looks like a very nice G grade. More pics please. I have a 26" damascus #1 frame 12ga that is wonderful to carry.

No way to tell about frame sizes. The other questions? Further investigation is called for.

Neither sources are correct. Due to missing record books, there is no way to know for sure how many of any Parjer was built.

That being said, the figures in TPS are likely a better bet to go on.

If most GH 12's, PS, were built on 1 I/2 frames, what would be an approximate guess as to the number built on a # 1 frame?

A few more photos.....Many thanks for your input, Jerry

Jerry, there is really no way of knowing. A guess would be nothing more than a guess.

PSS G grades in #1 frame are probably less than 20% of the number of 1 1/2 frame guns.
