That's exactly what it is, Parker guns sometimes have the "N" designation in front of the serial number which simply means "Number".

Discussed here before...
The upswept right vertical of the stylized "N" on the trigger guard intersects a small "o" creating a "No" which is the abbreviation of the word "Number" as in Serial Number. |
