Default Arkansas

Just got back from a duck hunt in Arkansas. Great time, as you can see. The first day I shot my NH 10 gauge Parker. 6 of us got 10 ducks, which was a mediocre hunt, but still lots of fun. The second day, we got 6 limits, including 3 speckle bellies all together at the end which capped out the limit and a great day of hunting.

Our outfitter was just fine, but I would probably go back with a different one. Won't say the name for that reason. Our guide the second day was really good and the second day really made the trip. We had a great group which also made the trip really made it good as well

Nice looking gun Mills. I have sure shot a lot of game, but I have never been duck/waterfowl hunting. I am going to have to do that one day, but their has to be dogs involved. Love to watch dogs doing what they were bred to do.

We had dogs working both days. They did some pretty amazing retrieves of ducks that fell all the way across the rice field. The dog the first day had to break ice too. Different dog work from upland birds, but equally amazing, at least to me

Thanks Charlie. That 10 gauge is a great gun and has done well on ducks.

Where we went just lives and breathes duck hunting. Everyone you saw was doing something involving duck hunting. If you saw someone outside their house, they were either training their dog or hooking up their boat or something. You have to go to Mack's Prairie Wings which is basically a huge store devoted to duck hunting.

We did two rice field hunts which were beautiful, but hope to do a timber hunt there maybe next time.
