Default Texas Horse-Drawn Quail Hunt

PGCA Member Steve Rivers just contacted me to tell me about a quail hunt he went on in November in Menard County, Texas.

Steve says, "We hunted from a wagon and on horseback over pointers and three of us shot our Parkers. I shot a VH 16 and my friends shot a DHE .410, and a DHE 28 Repro by Winchester. The hunt was filmed and will air on the RFD TV channel sometime next year. They did a short interview with my friend on the history of his DHE .410."

I think we'll all be looking forward to seeing that episode of RFD TV.

I get RFD TV on my Verizon subscription here in Northeastern Massachusetts. Some pretty interesting programs are shown.

There are some good programs on there. I enjoy the antique tractor shows in particular. Rodeo too. Not being in the agriculture business, I must admit that the futures market report and cattle auctions don't keep my attention for long.

If you have any "country" in you there should be something you will enjoy. You will need to watch long and hard to find anything that your entire family couldn't watch.

RFD is old postal code -"Rural Free Delivery" I believe. I guess that means there was no surcharge for the extra cost of transportation of the letter or parcel from the postal facility out to the farms.

Best,

Mike
