Default Mattie Gun

Well it is a rainy day here in South Haven MI, Just thinking about the gun that I am having upgraded to celebrate my labs life as I have said before it is a 16gauge steel barrel hammer gun that is being made into a AA hammer gun, just ordered the wood and Chris Dawe sent me some photo's of the blank just thought I would share them this morning, it is a work in progress will probably take 6 months or so and I will keep any body that is interested updated as work progresses Gary

Gary ,Looks like a Great Place to start ,beautiful wood ! Take as many photos as you can stand to ,I know when I did the Austin Healey 20 Plus years ago ,I took a bunch and my only regret is I didn't take more ! Before and afters are really nice to have on a big project ! Good Luck with your gun ,can't wait to see the finished job ! Russ

Great looking wood. The project sounds interesting and pricey. My guess is all of us would like to kept up to date as we might be interested in a similar project some time.

Gary thats a nice stick of wood there. I like nice wood better than engraveing as it's the first thing people notice. Gunner's Gun was completed in less than a year so hopefully Mattie's gun will be ready for her unvailing at the Southern.

It's raining in central MI as well and I hate working in the rain

Please keep us posted Gary. I will be doing the same for my boy sometime down the line
and I think is going to be my 16ga lifter. Can't wait for the end result.

Very nice blank for your project. Nice grain flow through the wrist with great figure and color!

Rich, I don't think I will have it by the Southern but maybe. Hope I can come close to that beautiful gun you had done for Gunner, after all they were our best friend! I will keep you all informed of the work in progress. Gary
