Grand Blanc Huntsman's Club 11th Annual SxS Shoot 10Jun23

Grand Blanc Huntsman's Club in Grand Blanc, Michigan will be hosting their 11th annual SxS shoot on Saturday, 10Jun23. Registration opens at 8:30am and runs through 10:00am. Courses open at 9:00am. Friendly competition includes 50 Sporting Clay birds and 25 birds on our new, elevated 5-stand course. Lunch and beverage is included in the $55 entry fee. Participants are welcome to shoot all venues (SC, 5-Stand, Upland SC, Skeet and Trap) at member prices. We would appreciate pre-registration (no money required) to get an accurate lunch count.

hey Phil. wife and i were thinking about trying to make it up for the event. with the close proximity of Frankenmuth it would be a nice couple day trip.we have never been to Grand Blanc. anything else going on in town?. also would be her first actual organized shoot. might be fun. thanks for the invite. Hi Matt,
Well, Grand Blanc is a pretty small town. I couldn't find anything special going on that weekend (other than my shoot :-) ). Frankenmuth is having its Bavarian Festival that weekend. Frankenmuth is ~ 30 - 35 minutes north of Grand Blanc. There are a number of hotels in Grand Blanc. Not having stayed at any of them, I can't personally vouch for any. Frankenmuth has many hotels but probably at a higher price point. This would be a great first shoot. The course will not be super challenging but will be creative. The elevated Five Stand will be a little more challenging but fun. No one is super competitive. It's more about enjoying camaraderie, fine guns and kindred spirits. We also have an Upland course that is very hunting representative. That, skeet and trap can all be shot at member rates that day. Typically, we have only one woman shooting. Last year there was none. So you wife has a good chance of winning a medal (good positive reinforcement :-) ). Hope to see you and your wife there!

sounds pretty promising for our style of shooting. thanks for the reply sir. wife was laughing out loud when i read your response, and said now she's game to actually try to shoot at a regular match.. haha mattly.
