Beautiful gun and beautiful country!
Is that a Nova Scotia Tolling Dog? .

Dean, Rusty gets mistaken for a Toller, and there is good reason for it since sable coat Border Collies like him were part of the original blend that produced the Nova Scotia Toller breed. He's been an indispensable partner for 7 seasons now.
Craig, the straight grip isn't original, but I buy "shooters" that may or may not have already been altered and then if need be, tailor them to my needs/ desires. The guns I can afford are never collector condition guns, and sometimes are even in need of repair. I usually hunt 100+ days each year (the reason I can't afford a pristine Parker!). That's a lot of time spent carrying a gun, I really appreciate a great gun in my hands during those hours. |

Understood and by no means are mine “pristine” . But I’d still like to get an EH that left the factory with a straight grip . Since I’m looking for a factory original 26” EH it would be great if I found a 26” that was straight gripped as well

For those who don't know, Garhart, he is also one of my favorite contemporary outdoor journalists. You can read his stories in Shooting Sportsman, Fur-Fish-Game, and other outdoor periodicals, and on the Upland Journal podcasts. Some of my favorites were his posts on the 16 Ga. Forums on his cross-country road trips for pheasant in Kansas, and his Himalayan Snowcock hunt. He always posts beautiful photos. Rusty is an admirable bird dog (ask Edgar Spencer about the intelligence of Border Collies), who could hold his own against most bird dogs. He gravitates toward the classic vintage doubles we all hold dear, esp 16 ga guns such as his Lefever Durstan Special 16.
Hope to see you as a regular on the PGCA Forums.
