Default MEC 600Jr and inflation

I was at Cabelas in Scarborough Maine yesterday with Scott Kittredge and we were both shocked to see their price on a new MEC 600Jr. Reloading has certainly become much more expensive to get into.

I saw one at a local gunshop last week for $368 which I thought was high.

I think anything over $100 is to much for used and $150 for new but what the heck do I know I will say I paid $650 for a used refitted 600JR to load 8 gauge , but it was either that or do it with hand tools snd im way to impatient for that

putting a few loaders away would have been a better bet than Roslyn gold

I think I still have a 10ga one in the box - maybe i''ll wait for the price to peak

I go to Craigslist and type in MEC pretty often. Picked up 60 pounds of shot, 2000 primers, 1/2 pound of powder, 1000 wads, 100 hulls, a brand new powder scale still in the box, and a brand new 9000 20 gauge with all of the improved features (tilting primer tray so it will stop dropping primers when you finish up the rounds being processed) for $400. Really got the 9000 for almost nothing, maybe $100. Makes 7/8 ounce loads flawlessly.

But it happens to our toys when old farts like us die.

About $255 for the 600 JR other places. I am guessing Cabelas has the price tag of a higher grade reloader on it.

Made my weekly pass thru the reloading stuff I watch on Ebay, lots of clean, one owner MEC rigs for sale. Several models and multi gauges from cheap to ridicules. I'm always amazed at what some items are valued at.

Yes, I also think someone at Cabela's put the price of a higher-grade reloader on that box. Midway has the 12 gauge 600 JR for $232 plus shipping. Prices are up, but they aren't that bad. Not yet, anyway...

You’re correct . Look at the price tag blown up unless I’m mistaken it says Sizemaster !

That is not a small mistake. I pity the person who bought a 600jr at that price.
