One of the Parker Repro advertising folders lists the 28-gauge 28-inch barrels as having 3-inch chambers --
Repro 04 back page.jpg I've always believed this was a misprint. The other two I have, show 2 3/4 inch. The Parker Reproductions were built well before the Italians, or whoever, started offering 3-inch 28-gauge guns and shells. |

Hmm, never considered the introduction of 3" 28 Gauge shot-shells. I am new to the 28 gauge game. That would make sense if the Reproductions pre-dated 3" offerings. I need to go down and measure mine now using the suggestion by Big D. I am guessing if they are 3" they were probably lengthened post production.

I personally don't see the need for a 3" 28 gauge. The 2 3/4" payload is about as perfect as you would want. That being said, a friend of mine has 3 or 4 flats of 3" 28ga, #6, at $130/flat. He knew I was a 28 freak but I told him the only gun I knew that was chambered for that round was a Benelli or Beretta auto. Does anyone know of a good smith that could lengthen the chambers in my VHE 28?

Well, using the light trick and the back side of my dial calipers I can definitely say it is 2 3/4".
I have been curious about my 2 3/4" marked 20 Gauge also. It too is 2 3/4". |

For some reason we inherited a whole bunch of small bore magnum loads. Why anyone would want to shoot that stuff is beyond me. I gave all that I could find to my brother who doesn’t care
