This whole deal was a simple making right of a working gun. The original buttstock on the gun had been cut down to about 11" and a wood extension that still left it short. It was also pinned in the head.
The gun is a 1 frame 16g. VH.
A new stock was made from grade appropriate American Walnut to match the original dimensions and an LOP of 14-1/4". A new buttplate was fitted along with new screws to go with it. Those and the original grip cap screw were color hardened. A new screw was fitted for the trigger guard as well. The original forend wood was in fine condition, so it was refinished and recheckerd.
Checkering is 18 lines per inch in the proper style for a VH grade.
All other metal finishes were left as original.
At least now the owner can use this old family gun.
