Is Hawkins Hawkins or a reproduction of Hawkins ? If a reproduction It's the one that some say is poor quality. No offense it's what I hear not what I know . It has the correct look for sure.

Hello William,
I have a used but very good original Hawkins dk. red pad with 14 slots. It measures 6 1/16" X 1 5/8". If you're interested, shoot me a PM and we can discuss it. Best, Dean |

I think the Hawkins pad with the heart shapes is what was put on my SC in 1941
Will post picture later |

Deans pad was a bit too narrow.

In some of the late 1930s Remington Trap Gun literature they show their Parker SBT with a Jostam Hy-Gun pad and their Parker double trap with what appears to be a Silvers or Jostam Air-Cushon pad.
In the same booklet their Remington Model 31TC and Model 32TC are shown with the Hawkins pad. A good pad from back in the day for a pre-mounted Trap Gun was the D-W -- As for the repro Hawkins pad, it is the really large size with 15 openings, and takes a very large stock to work. Finding a NOS with 13 openings is often the better option. |

The Hawkins with the heart shaped openings is to be preferred over the slotted Hawkins pad.
