Hi, my dad's cousin finally passed along my great grandfather's VH 12ga, made in 1900 and I think bought new by him, to me. I've been waiting for about 20 years and didn't think I'd get it before I turned 50. Anyway very happy and glad to see all of the great info here. Stock has pulled away from the receiver so I immediately sent it to Dave Trevallion who just seems like an all around good egg but I guess that's old news here. Can't wait to get it back and let it take the place of my Browning for dove season!

Seth,

When you get it back take some pictures. I have my fathers Parker and love to see the ones that came down through the family.

Kindest, Harry

Harry, had a look at some you posted of your father's gun; love the wear patterns those old guns get. Mine hasn't been used enough to get that kind of patina but I, ah, aim to fix that! Will post pics when available again. -Seth

Seth,

It amazes me the amount of use some of these Parkers received. Many have the checkering almost all worn off like my fathers Trojan. I have two rifles I purchased new almost 40 years ago and though I have practiced and hunted with them a lot they still look new. My father and one of his friends carried their shotguns in their laps on the train from Kentucky to Augusta Military Academy near Staunton, Virginia. That little six pound gun took just about anything with fur or feathers.

Welcome and what a good story you have, I am fairly new in here, and the members here are very helpful. I just purchased a parker v grade 16 gauge, it is such a nice gun. Hope you enjoy yours.
