Default Ithaca NID 20 Gauge with Provenance

I just purchased a NID 20 GA Field with a great story. I am the third owner of this gun, which had an article written on it by Don Nickerson in the 2005 Upland Almanac . The gun was originally purchased by Anton Semrov, who served 38 years as a NYS game warden, for his wife Betty as a first wedding anniversary gift in 1938. Anton went to the Ithaca Factory and picked out the gun. She upland hunted with it for years and there is actually mention in the article of where she dropped it and dented the comb . The gun features 26'' barrels that are rust and dent free , LOP 14 ¼’ to a replacement Ithaca pad , DAC 1 1/2 - DAH 2 1/2 , chokes are Full/Mod .010-.025 , the metal is totally original with tons of color left. Checkering is sharp and there are no splits or cracks in the wood. This is a very nice gun with a great story. I received a copy of the Summer, 2005, Upland Journal which the article appears in.

Very nice Ithaca NID there Steve and a great story to go with it!

I love the simple border engraving of the last version of the NID Field grade, the New Ithaca Field Grade.

So much the better when they have the amount of case color as yours has,
Stan

Beautiful Ithaca!!....Ive noticed that Ithacas' tend to retain the case colors much better than all the others...wonder why that is....were they used less or were they doing something different.

Great gun, Steve, and one to which you should be able to add a story or two.
