Aaron, they’re never as pretty the 2nd or third time around. The rolled edge is a tad worn, and if you’re lucky and can trim 1/16” or so, they look better. Smokeless powders don’t really burn paper hulls.

Thanks Edgar. What sort of powder and wads etc? I am currently using Universal because i have a supply, said to burn hotter than some and maybe not a good fit for paper. It definitely melts the lip of chedditte hulls but they still last a while.

PB for 12ga. paper, and 7625 for 16ga paper. Not much help for someone just getting into paper, but I saw their demise coming and bought what I could find.

Edgar, I'd say stuffing rolled paper into ANY Parker is the right thing to do. I did exactly that in the field 30 minutes before sunrise yesterday. The teal hated it! Those are very nicely rolled. There is something just a bit "better" about paper hulls. Just have to sniff the first ones out of the gun in the morning.

I had friends in shot skeet with years ago that swore by paper Federals in the 12 gauge . They however didn’t roll crimp and only loaded them TWICE .
