Default George Blair Has Passed Away

Our good friend and member, Lt. Colonel George Blair passed this life on January 19, 2013. You will remember George as the friendly guy who partnered with Jerry Smith at the Southern Side by Side, the Northeast Side by Side, the Fall Southern, and the Maryland Arms Collectors Show at Baltimore. He was an avid waterfowl hunter, Parker collector, and was OIC of the Army Reserve USA and International Pistol Teams. George and I were classmates at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Maryland and renewed our friendship years ago through the PGCA. George, Jerry, and I are neighbors in adjoining towns here in Maryland. His impressive obituary is posted on staufferfuneralhome.com, and includes a picture of George for those who don't know him. I just got the call from Jerry early this morning and am headed out the door on a mission, so will post more later.

I remember George. A really nice guy - always had a smile.

I wish him a great hunt in the fields of heaven, where dog and master will be young at heart forever, Gary

My wife Sandy and I have enjoyed many friendly conversations with George at the Southern and many gun shows he attended. We are shocked and saddened. A fine gentleman who will be greatly missed. We send our prayers and condolences to his family.

Wow...This is so sad. George was a great guy to shoot the breeze with. I will miss our conversations at Ernie's. My deepest condolances to his family.

Would anyone care to link George's obituary on staufferfuneralhome.com to this site? Unfortunately, the funeral home website doesn't seem to have the obituary on their site any more, but googling georgeblairobituarymountairymaryland seems to bring it up. Your help would be appreciated.
