Thanks very much for that note.
This prompted me to call Ernie and he told me the Northeast SXS Classic will be held this year on June 1st thru 3rd and he has vendors all set up and apologized that it’s not shown on his website yet. I will edit the dates in my earlier posts… .

I live nearby Hausmann's in PA and this doesn't apply to me but just wondering, what are the current restrictions, if any, for bringing long arms into NY state? As most of us have read in the news there are at least some new NY laws in effect. How about gents/gals who don't have a NY State non-resident hunting license and are just "visiting" in NY for a hotel stay in Vestal.
Also in the past I've talked with gents while at Hausmann's who carry handguns with their in-state CCP. From what I understand NY is NOT a reciprocal state and there may be new laws, and if in possession of a handgun you could get in a world of hurt if involved in a traffic accident or whatever while in NY. Me? When visiting our daughter who lives in upstate NY I leave my handgun at home. Also, just recently a PA friend told me he forgot about the NY laws and was in transit for a business meeting in NY. He stopped while still in PA in a rural area, disassembled his semi-auto pistol and stashed the pieces separately in the woods, then retrieved same on his return trip. Better safe than sorry! Hopefully one of our NY state members will reply to both scenarios. |

Thanks Frank - I don't know the answer and don't know the specifics of NY firearms laws.
The decision to travel through NY or stay at a hotel in NY is entirely the responsibility of those choosing to do so. Incidentally, I just asked Kathy about their cancellation policy and refund policy and she said they have a 48 hour policy, meaning up to 48 hours before the date of your arrival you will not be charged or penalized. Less than 48 hours there will be a small % penalty I imagine. .
