So sorry for your loss. May you be comforted by all the wonderful memories of times together at home and afield.

Craig, sorry for your loss. Saying goodby to a special dog that you have spent so many memorable moments with over the years is one of the hardest things a bird hunter has too so.
RIP Lucy

What a fine looking pup and built for sliding through thick cover and choppy water! I'll bet you have some great memories with her. Thoughts are with you and family.

Modern medicine gives us a pill for all the aches and pains we feel as we get older, but there isn't now, or ever will be a magic pill that eases the pain we feel, on loosing our true best friend. There is some comfort knowing we aren't alone in feeling that dull, but very real ache of emptiness. The remedy doesn't come from the medicine cabinet, but from the vast memories we made with our best friend. It's the one cure we will never overdose from.

Lucy was special Craig. She had a wonderful sense of energy and drive. You and I often bring up her blind retrieve in S. Dakota and relive it as it was textbook. That's what bird hunting is all about. You know how I feel. We shall raise a glass soon to all our bird dogs, past and present, at our next shoot. RIP Lucy.
