if you google them they seem to be an invasive from europe with a strange life cycle. they have been in some parts of the country for some time.
My sons and friends have been butchering our deer for some time since it became too expensive to have it done and this is a first. They are very obvious in that they move much faster than a tick. |

I’ve dealt with keds a few times when deer hunting up around Shohola Lake gamelands in the Poconos of Pennsylvania, during years when the weather was warm. They’re quite irritating as they land or crawl up on you and make their way to your neck and up into your hair. I’ve never been bitten or anything but it’s unnerving and irritating.
