Clearances on forearms can be affected by a number of things. If it is a recent development could be dirt in the latch, or the wood has swollen which interferes with the bite of the latch.
Or the spring on the catch has weakened or worn? Or.......

Took it to Jim Gelinne: He took it apart & found a spring had come out. Not Broken, just out of where it should be. He fixed it.
I used to be a PGCA member, but haven't for some years. Sam |

My 28 gauge is not an everyday one: It is double trigger, straight stocked, 28", beaver tail foreend. I couldn't hit anything with it, so measured the barrels: HOLY SHIT!
The "full" one was 40 thousands. So, I took it to a retired guy, who opened the barrels up to Skeet & Skeet. It worked a lot better for me. No, I don't recommend it for everyone. |

Who is the guy that does the dolls head fix? I had him do this one once, and need it again.
(It lasted several years of skeet shooting; but the little thing he put in the dolls-head is loose. I think the screw is somewhat loose, as it comes out a bit.) I would use the same guy again as he did great work. Sam |
