Daryl that was a factory Uncle Morris (RST) payload of 7/8 oz of #5 at 1200 FPS, 2 1/2". The gun was the 2 Frame 16 that Mr. Thompson entrusted to me last year with some really tight chokes. Shot was close so not much of a challenge for the combination. I have not hunted turkeys much with a gun for the last 20 years, usually archery hunted. Well you're an archery hunter so you like the challenge. Let me know when you get to the 28. Then you'll be in the tall cotton.

I tried my 28 Repro's MOD barrel a few years back but the big guy busted me at 6 yards and was quickly "gettin' outta Dodge" when I touched off. Head shots are pretty hard on a moving target.

Wish I'd known you were going to use that gun I'd have given you a dozen or so of the 1 ounce tower shoot #6's I shot in the gun .

That long barreled VH 28 gauge 30" oughtta be inline for 2026 then

I have some 1 oz loads and honestly have no reason why I did not use them other than I did not think about it. Yes, you are correct in that thinking for 2026 if I can pull off the 20 ga next season.
