Thanks Dean!
But - I'm always indebted to the folks that send their images to me for consideration - which really makes this site "come alive"... My only problem is - I just wish they'd send me their Parkers so I could shoot them?? With a camera, of course... Sort of.. Maybe?? My thanks right back to you and all that make this community all that it is... John D. |

Do you fellas know if something was done to the engraving to make it stand out like that or is it just the lighting..... great shot! ... beautiful...

Hi Marty,
From my end - when I receive an image for submission and I'm going to post it - I'll bring it into Photoshop and color balance it, resize it for the page, convert it to sRGB (for web) and sharpen it for the screen - and then post it. That way - all images appear "equally". Credit for all the images really go back to the original author - as we have some exceptionally great images taken by some gifted folks here - so my job in post-processing is really easy... John D. |

I can say the exact same thing about the pictures that appear in Parker Pages.
Credit goes to those who send their pictures - though some cropping, balancing and enhancing is done by myself to the finished product.... but if we can't start out with a quality image, nothing we can do will improve it. In my opinion the engraving on that CH has not been retouched. I base that opinion on the fact that the foliate engraving behind the hinge pin and down under the frame shows wear from use, not having been retouched or "picked up" as it were. It is just a beautiful well cared-for CH. .

Excellent photo. Gorgeous gun. Noble birds.
