Perhaps Drew will point out Mr Griffith on the 1901 GAH Live Bird "Straights" image (attributed to Dave Noreen) that he included in the trapshooter link?

Frank: I can't find Dave's full size image. If you or he will post it, I'll crop to just the faces and see if I can enhance it enough to pick out E.C. Griffith and some of the others. Or send it to me as a full size jpg attachment to revdoc2@cox.net
Here is the list of the 25 straights who went to the shoot-off; 6 Parkers http://library.la84.org/SportsLibrar.../SL3704018.pdf  BTW: E.C. and almost all the guys were using 1 1/4 oz. with 3 1/2 Dr. Eq. Bulk Smokeless with pressures about 11,500 psi = the modern SAMMI recommended max. http://library.la84.org/SportsLibrar.../SL3704019.pdf 42 gr. L&R Bulk = 3 1/2 Dr. Eq. NOT light loads 1 1/4 oz. 3 1/2 Dr. Eq. (1275 fps) in an 8# gun (the limit at that time) = 27 ft/lbs free recoil

Found that "The American Field" April 13, 1901 image of the "straights" but apparently lost in the Photobucket fiasco
 http://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/...30518&page=all I've got a tiny low resolution copy CSL has an invaluable image from a tournament with the competitors numbered and named which should help ID the GAH shooters
