Default New Member from Michigan

No Parker......but hopefully someday!!!

I recently found the website and was happy to join and become a member as I love to learn about the "finer things" as they relate to enjoying the outdoors. I grew up in Northern Michigan and currently work as a college professor in Southwest Michigan. In addition to being an avid upland hunter (sxs, but no Parker yet), I love to fly fish and build bamboo fly rods. I serve as the editor of The Planing Form newsletter dedicated to the making of bamboo fly rods and recently introduced a product where bamboo rod makers can construct bamboo cleaning rods to accompany their fine upland pieces....I believe the two things go together well!

I look forward to lurking and learning on this site and maybe someday I will have something to add.

Kirk

Kirk - Do you get involved with the Gray Rock gathering or Bamboo Bend in Grayling?

Big D,

I certainly do.

I have attended Grayrock for several years now and look forward to it every year. Planning on heading up again this year......Always a great time.

I love that area for fishing and a great place to wander in the woods behind a setter in the fall.

There are two side by side shoots coming up this spring, one this month on the 21 at Freeland MI and another in Lapeer on May 20 I think. Come out and shoot does't have to be a Parker. I know there will be about three or four Parker members at these shoots so come on out and join us. Eric

Hi Kirk - Welcome to the PGCA from one editor to another. I'm the editor of Parker Pages, the journal of the PGCA. You will receive an issue with your new member package and each quarterly issue as long as you're a member.

Welcome Kirk,

I enjoy shotguns and fly fishing. I have a Parker but no bamboo rod! Would love to have one.
