Default Did it again bought another Parkers

Well I ended up buying what is now my 2nd Parker Brothers . It was a spur of the moment kind of thing I didn't plan on . I noticed it apart from the other doubles when I visited Wayne . I instantly liked the gun what stood out to me was this bronze colored patina on the barrels I really liked . Its a grade 2 10 gauge top action , seems pretty light id guess in the 9lb range. After lugging the 6 frame around and the 8 gauge a #3 frame feels like a 6lb 16 gauge haha . I also have to mention how securely Wayne packaged it , it was like he was shipping bars of gold I appreciate the effort he put into that .

That’s a nice G 10 !

Add another heavy hitter to the litter!

I figure at the rate I'm going ill have a decent collection of 10 gauges by my mid 30s lol . It fits me well in the shoulder its got pretty nice bores as well . I had looked at a few G grade 10 gauge hammer guns but the asking prices and the conditions turned me away .

I'm 28 now I bought my first Parker last year at 27 .
Which I thought was interesting because the original owner who ordered it from Parker Brothers was 27 when he placed the order .

I've had a interest in old doubles since I was a teenager but only in the past year or so could I actually begin to afford them .

Wayne is like the cool grandpa everyone wishes they had growing up haha . Just about every odd gun I've thought about buying at some point Wayne has one . I much prefer doing business with people I've met through the PGCA . I always enjoy talking to the older members especially when doing business because they impart a bit of their knowledge on these classic guns to me .

I'm happy with the G grade its also my first Parker hammer gun . The action closes up as if it new and balances perfectly in the hands . I will try to get a better picture of the barrels when I get home . I've been busy working 7am-9pm the past 4 weeks .

I’m old and really appreciate hearing you say that. I’d like to think that when I’m gone, I left more than stuff.

Thats one thing I think about when I get one of these vintage guns and I get to to know the previous owner even if its just conversing on here. I feel like even after someones gone their memory lives on by taking these old doubles in the field and using them as my predecessor's did. Even at 28 I sometimes think if I live to be 80 is anyone going to have the same appreciation for these old doubles as I do .

Here is a better picture of the color of the barrels , I want to say I have seen a similar color before but I cant remember where . I like it though gives it a distinctive appearance .

Milton, That is a nice hammer 10! I like everything about it. I noticed it doesn't have the dolls head extension on the barrels...that is pretty neat. Is it in the 25000 serial number range? That would have been as things were shifting from lifter to top action(I think).

I like the color of the barrels as well. Enjoy it and give us a range report.
