They toned it down over there. It was really out of hand for a while and sometimes humorous. My favorite was when they were accusing each other of being "closet anti-gunners"
If the metal plate is the only issue, it would make a good shooter for someone |

That "Ed-1" actually is Ed Good.
The buttplate could be original but keep in mind that a VH of that vintage actually would have had a spurred DHBP so installing an earlier spurred steel butt plate would have been no great feat. That being said, those screws were perfectly fitted and THAT'S quite a feat. .

Isn't the wood rounded under the steel plate? Also the comb "looks" fatter to me.
