Dog's Head Butt Plate
Thanks for your prompt reply Dean. The plate measures 5" x 1.75" and does seem to be inletted into the wood (see attached picture). If anyone has one (even a reproduction as the gun has already been modified) I would love to get my hands on it.

easy to find- any one of them may need some fitting - especially the spur area

They ALL need fitting. Both in the spur area and around the edges.

They can require a LOT of fitting in my experience.
