Default Shipping from Del Grego

Has anyone else who has had Del Grego do work on their gun experience longer than normal shipping time getting the gun back? I know he only uses USPS, but I'm going on 10 days since the gun shipped from him and nothing. When I contacted Larry, he said it could take up to 14 days. Needless to say I'm getting nervous.
Anyone else experience this?

Registered Mail is notoriously slow because of the required signatures at each point of custody.

John I just went through this. It took 11 business days for a package to make it from Ilion to Southern IN using USPS Priority-Registered. Last Thursday FedEx picked up a gun at my office in the late afternoon. On Friday afternoon, the next day, it was delivered in Central MI. USPS and registered mail has it's devoted followers who will cite the reliability of it. Personally I wonder if it's just an old habit that's convenient for them. To each his own I suppose. Ne need to be nervous on your end as this is typical for them.

Well that definitely makes me feel better. I never ship packages by the USPS. I've always used UPS. I think the pony express would be quicker than this.

It took about 12 days for USPS to get a shotgun to my home (C&R). It was Virginia to NY, not exactly across the globe. Watch and track it. It required a signature of course, but mine was left leaning against the mailbox 700 feet from my house in broad daylight, no signature!! On another episode of the Andy Chronicles, my STI handgun got delivered to an old lady who opened it, thought, "This ain't mine..." and she put it inside the box, left it open, and put it back on her porch until we tracked it and the UPS guy picked it up a day later. I have had the best luck with Fedex, but hang in there, USPS is very slow.

my dream 28 ga VH was in Atlanta for 4weeks from N Carolina than another 2 weeks to get to Vermont. I could have walked there to get it faster. not so quick to buy now if shipped through USPS.

Legh, I'll never ship Registered mail again. I learnt my lesson. Next time I'll just get on my horse and ride it there.

My "Registered" USPS story is similar...took almost 2.5 weeks and had to do a dance to get possession of the gun. Shipped a Parker that way, to myself. The local PO explained that at each stop, the gun was put in a locked cage to await the blessing of that supervisor, etc until the final destination. Might not happen quickly is a big understatement. But at least it WAS secure! And it did arrive intact...

I have never sent "Registered" again. I find insuring it for a few thousand $ gets their attention and usually arrives in 2-3 days as expected.

Good grief. That's crazy. Not to mention USPS tracking is terrible as well.
