Default 410 Powder

I just got an email from Midway USA that 410 powder is now discontinued. If this is old news, then disregard.

Angel, I like that powder a lot and was able to find it when you couldn't find anything else. It does a great job in the 410...

To add to this thread I had 20/28 on my notify list from Midway and I just received an email that was discontinued as well.

I hope they are just not carrying anymore...it's getting harder and harder to find powder.

Jay, I'm also hoping they are talking about the particular item and not the making of the powder.

I received a similar message from Midway about American Select: “The item you've been waiting for has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase.”

I know American Select is an Alliant powder. If the others areas well this could be because Alliant stopped producing any powders for the reloading market I believe

Alliant announced for the time being they were suspending production of all canister powders due to the worldwide shortage of nitrocellulose due to the various wars and production of artillery and small arms ammo.

300 MP is an alternative powder for the 410.It is an Alliant product but is available at several retailers I've checked.I have used this for the 2 1/2" 410 and worked good.Pressures listed are significantly lower than the 410 powder on the Alliant reloading site.Jeff

There are Winchester ball powders that are better than the Alliant powders for the .410. I used Alliant .410 for a long time then switched to Winchester after I got some insider info from an ammo company that they switched to Winchester after some inconsistencies in the loads with .410 powder.

Default .410 Powder

I used H-110 for years before .410 powder. I guess I'll go back to that.
