Very nice indeed!
I too have Parker correspondence from Parker Bros. around here someplace concerning just who may be the holder of the ventilated rib patent. When and if I find it I'll post it as well. .

When I was a youngster back in the 60’s I can remmember reading one of the gun rag writers saying you didn’t want a SxS with a vent rib , something about holding moisture blah blah blah and for years I took that to heart . When I got my first SxS that I paid for a Greener DH40 it had a single trigger and at the time I thought that trigger the greatest thing . Later I became somewhat of a snob and only wanted double triggers . Now in a little over a year since I got my only vent rib Parker that also has a single factory trigger and wide forend I’m pretty okay with all three options .

a great piece of history for both Parker and Ithaca fans - it could have been lost so easily as I am sure many such pieces have been.
thanks for posting it
