Allen, had the same thing happen to my 20 Repro a few years back. Took it to Cullity for a strip/clean/re-lube. Upon opening the action Ryan saw the original lube had gelled and gummed up the whole action. Take the gun to Dan's.

When I first purchased my SSS, if I hunted in the rain the safety would be very difficult or impossible to move. I sent the gun back to Reagent Chemicals (Skeuse) I believe. They relieved the wood inside the stock a little. Hasn’t happened since.
I think I’ve heard of this problem before. |

On my 20 clays gun sometimes the safety is blocked by the front trigger not fully returning to the forward position after firing. A slight push on the back and the trigger and the safety slide moves ok. SXS Ohio

Kenny, what causes binding of the front trigger?

This is caused by a week trigger return spring and maybe some dried oil/Greece. I have not serviced the gun as yet; it will require the trigger plate removal.

Actually the trigger return spring would not have anything to do with that. Any trigger binding would be due to fit issues between the safety toggle, sear legs and trigger blades.
All the trigger spring does is prevent the triggers from having free movement or rattle.
