I never give opinions since I feel as though I have not been around the barn enough but my thought on this gun is that it was a SB not in the book and when restored it was re-stamped to make it look like an SA. It is typical SB engraving lacking full coverage. I say this since I have an identical SB to this gun, it letters as an SB, it is a Del Grego restoration and it to has the water table re-stamped to A and 6.

Agreed on the stamping.

If this gun was upgraded, it is unlikely that it started as an SB. More likely started as an SC. Maybe these questions resulted in the $3400 price paid on Julia's leftover list. I think it's a great gun and would gladly pay $3400 for it.

Brian, if that's an A, it's a nice one. Tell us about it.

Bill it is not an A, it is a B just like the gun pictured on Trapshooter for sale. It was restamped to grade A-6 just as the gun on Trapshooter by Del Grego at some point in time when it was restored. Mine letters as a B with non full coverage floral engraving just like the Trapshooter gun. The Trapshooter gun does not letter.

Let's hear more about these A Grades that are suspect. What trapshooter gun does not letter? If a gun does not letter, how can anyone say that it is one grade or another?
