Default Parker reproduction hits the field...

Perhaps for the first time!
Last 2 times out I took the Trojan and even flushed a hen pheasant by almost stepping on her (no dog at the moment)

Tomorrow I will take the repro out, to once again try and scare up some birds...supposed to be a hard freeze tonight...that's okay by me as I usually sweat up a storm in any weather over 40 degrees...If I'm successful, I'll post a pic or 2...

For those of you wondering, both the repro and the Trojan are 20 ga guns...I've never shot a bird with anything but a 12 so I hope the 20 will bring down a ringneck!

I was sorting through some shells and was going to try some older 20's in No.6 shot but I noticed some corrosion around the primer area so I put them away and will use some new Winchester 7 and a halfs...

I'll try the older 20's at the range sometime to see if they fire...

Had a fine day and even chased a nice fat rooster through some cat o nine tails (would not flush!)
Then I went in to the water over my boots and nearly fell in...note to self...get some hip boots for this place!

So...I wanted to fire the repro as I had a problem with the forend loosening ("Thoughts on this" post in the repro section)

Found a wayward pumpkin and took my frustrations (safely) out on it and by the fourth shot, the forend was at my feet...now I need to find a competent smith to do some filing work...

Any suggestions are welcomed!

Charlie, I found a gunsmith from someone else on here...he's going to work on my gun tomorrow while I go to lunch with my girlfriend in Vermont...nice to have connections from a great website like this!
