I have a Darne 20, lowest grade, purchased new in Massachusetts in the early 70s. Paid, I think, $185 for it. Gun weighs about 5 and a half pounds and has an articulated front trigger. Both triggers work fine but the safety (small lever on the side) takes some getting used to. Gun has a beautiful case colored receiver but lousy looking wood--very blond and plain. I haven't shot it much because the stock length is very short. Metal work is superb.

I'm not sure what you mean by "graceful" but I have owned a couple of Darne guns and both had very crisp and clean trigger pulls. I suggest you do have yours looked at. Should be an easy job for a qualified gunsmith that has some Darne experience
