Thanks and hi!
First a thank you to Mary Bowes. I am a member of a number of different forums. The experience with Mary has been exceptional. Pleasant does not give her enough credit. Prompt, very nice, accommodating, helpful, going out of her way to be helpful. Kudos to Mary. The job is thankless and usually under appreciated, so Mary, if you read this, or if someone can send this on, thank you for making my introduction to the PGCA membership a delight. They say first impressions are lasting impressions. What a nice way to be greeted.
Second, this is to the ne'er do wells (you know who you are) that drug me into this addiction (those of us with the jonesun' for a new SxS shotgun.) I am forever ungrateful for what seemed to be a simple invite to a hunt that has been in the back of my mind for a while. While it seemed a good idea this summer, it has since become a terrible idea with no real sense or purpose. I have all the shotguns I could ever shoot now. But a nice bottle of wine and some good conversation over a pizza, in a log cabin and what do you know.....
Once you hear the generosity of some of our members, how long lost family guns are reunited with other members and see the fine guns these gents bring to a field hunt, you begin to see the fascination of owning and shooting one of these, even if it is just an "entry level" shooter. Cuz you want to be a part of this experience and, for just one second believe, you may be as fine a guy as they are and if not at least ya look good tryin'.
Thanks to all and welcome, I look forward to seeing you at the end of the next hedge row. Maybe we can chat for a minute, if you've a mind, while I water my dog some. Russ Lindsay
