Default classic pre war sxs by imman meffert

this classic 16 gauge hunting gun was made in Germany in 1924. it is an extractor gun, that has double triggers and no choke tubes. and even with 29 1/2" barrels, it weighs just 6 1/2 pounds...

I have a Wm Collath single shot rifle 6.5x52R with a pre war scope thats kinda intresting as well !

Incidently when I bought that thing I was a little worried about ammo and come to find out thats the euro designation for the 25-35 WIN !

I have some old 60's factory loads for the 25-35 and when I fired them in this rifle at 100 yards I was easily getting 1 1/2" groups which I thought was very nice for this OLD rifle scope combo with almost as old ammo .

That one may get a nod next year during the Damage Control Permit season .

The shotgun barrels are 16 and 16 but the rifle barrel is 10.75x65R Collath . I use a 207 grain cast gas check bullet sized to .429" and pushed with about 16 grains of SR4756 .
To make brass for the cartridge I took Hornady 405 WIN brass cut it down to length ran the case partially in a 444 sizing die . I also had to turn the rim diameter and thickness on our lathe . But after all that I was finally able to get it to shoot decently at 50 yards with the irons .
