Default A rare and wonderful grouse season

This was one of a handful years, in my more than fifty years of grouse hunting, where we had no significant snow through seasons end AND, were blessed with a high grouse population.

As a result, the hunting was very good.

I took my setter, and Parker on many “long dog walks with a gun” and, those walks resulted in lots of chances to walk in on point and take a crack at a bird.

It was a rare and wonderful grouse season.

You were indeed blessed...

1925 VHE 20 bore “0” frame. 28” barrels choked .003 & .005. Restocked at some point to modern dimensions including a 15” lop which is ideal for me.

It was gifted to me by a hunting friend many years ago.

It’s a reliable old gun, that is never at fault, when I miss a grouse l!

What a great friend you must have. Those dimensions sound are right up my alley.
