Default Cocking Problem on a GH

I have a GH 12 gauge that had a broken cocking hook. I found a new OEM part and did minor fitting to install.
The new hook will not engage the cocking crank to cock the hammers.
What might need adjusting??
Thank you!!

I would check to see if the cocking piece is bound. Something broke the original cocking hook and I suspect something is out of place and not moving freely. Does the new cocking hook move without binding and is the cocking hook spring returning the cocking hook?
Good Luck,
Harry

Harry,
Thank you for your reply!
The new hook has spring and plunger and moves freely. Its travel should be sufficient to catch the crank but it does not. I will check for tolerances when I have time. Its width may need adjusting. If I can't ID the exact cause of problem I will take the gun apart and then I'll see what is hanging up.

Does the new hook mirror the old hook? It is very close tolerances.

I did not have the whole original hook so I copied one from another gun.

The cocking hook is, to my knowledge, a hand fitted piece to each Parker. I have found extra sets of barrels and before I try them on a frame I remove the cocking hook. Otherwise the barrels will not come off the gun and I must remove the bottom plate to disengage the cocking lever. I wish I knew the trick to fitting the two. Maybe someone else can explain it.
