Default RST on the ball

I was not looking for a 20-gauge gun, nor have ever owned one, but opportunity knocked last Friday and I acquired a Lefever Durston Special, bored thusly.

The following day (Saturday) I placed an order online with RST Classic Shotshells for a case of ammo for it. The selection is still limited, but suitable shells for my taste were available and by 5:00 o’clock this afternoon (Wednesday) the ammo, via UPS, was on my front porch.

Durstan specials are nice, lightweight little guns with steel barrels. What length barrels does it have. I have a 26" with ejectors. I shoot low pressure 3/4 oz loads thru mine with AA hulls. I do sometimes load RST 2 1/2" also. Pictures?

Harold:

The RST 2 ½-inch, Ultra-Lite ¾ ounce loads at 1100 are what I ordered for this 26-inch barreled (with extractors) gun. That is the same amount of shot I usually go with if shooting 100 targets, or so, at skeet or sporting clays with my 16-gauge, 0-framed, VH. Very easy on the once-dislocated shoulder.

I have no pictures yet, but will assemble something to post in the “General Discussions about Other Fine Doubles” section.

I would assume they’ll be at Rock Mountain the end of this month ? I wonder if they’ll make the trip to South Carolina in mid October ? RST that is !

If Morris and his crew can’t make it to Backwoods maybe Rick can place a big order with RST for a couple of pallets of various gauges and loads to sell to his customers.

That is a good suggestion Dean. It would eliminate the extra weight for those of us traveling from the north.

We're hoping that the components will start coming in so RST can get caught back up with their inventory. We hope they can bring shells here for our SxS shoot the end of this month. They were here last year, let's hope Morris and Tom can attend. They also set up and sell a lot of shells at the VGC in September. Add hunting season orders and they might not be able to fulfill a multi-pallet order for the Fall Southern?
