Brings back memories. I visited Audley House while in London on business back in 1992(?). I was surprised how cordial and friendly they were. Not at all what I expected. I handled many bespoke guns. They were impressive for sure. While there, I asked for a current price list. After doing the conversion from pounds to dollars, I realized I could buy a small farm back in the Carolinas for that kind of money. We left shortly after that.

We visited the famous gunmaker long ago (1993). They were very patient and courteous to a young chap obviously not in a position to buy a gun.

Brian, if you see a nice island lock hammer gun -- preferably a 16 bore, slip it in your suitcase and we can settle up at the Southern.

Interesting to note the shrapnel damage from the German bombing of London during WW2 on the front of Audley House. Inside they have a photo collection of showing all the damage shortly after the bombing raids.

I visited there even longer ago, and was also treated quite courteously. Sir Richard himself showed me a 28-bore they could finish up in my dimensions for twenty-eight thousand pounds, about $56,000 at the time.

Quick stop in Lisbon. A couple little gun shops. It’s a nice clean city where we have been.
