Unless you wish to collect 14 gauge does bring down the value for shooting. David

Colmindt: 14 gauge Parkers are extremely rare and somewhat valuable IMHO.

RMC should be able to provide brass cases. A set of chamber measurements or a cast may be necessary.

In fact, the RMC price list shows 2-1/2" shells at $60.00 for 10!

Most Parker men (and women) would snap up any decent 14 gauge gun at a reasonable price and then they would worry about how much profit they can make reselling it on the open market later...$6 a piece for handmade brass from bar stock(that last forever) is a bargain...I think that may be his old price list!

Rest assured, Austin's reply to your question is factual. Parker No.'s 54486, 54487, 54488, & 54489 were Grade 2 14 ga. pistol grip guns. 54486 and 54487 had 28" barrels and 54488 and 54489 had 30" barrels but all four were 14 gauge according to the records.

Interesting dilemma. If you were to take 12 and 16 gauge shells to the gun, and neither fill properly, demonstrating that is a 14 how would the seller react - raise or lower his price. My bet is he would raise it. Would there be any idintifiying marks on the watertable/barrel flats?
