Take the barrels off and look on the lug (the protrusion that locks the barrels to the frame) . It is probably stamped 1-1/2 or 2 if its a 12 ga. You might also see the last 3 digits of the serial number just around the corner of the lug from the frame size.

Thanks Dave, i found it....just over-looked it....think i made a bad trade back in 1978? The gun had a lot more centimental value than the car did...it was my grandfather bought that gun new...first gun i ever shot...he let me borrow it to go dove hunting for the first time, boy my arm was sore that night!

I used to drive a 1962 Impala to go dove hunting. What motor does your 1963 Impala have? Post pictures of the car and the gun and we'll tell you whether you made a good deal. If you didn't keep the Impala indoors since 1978, the gun would be the better deal.

Bill P,
I think just based on sentimental value alone you are way ahead with that trade. Bill M, My 62 Impala had a 327 with solid lifters, 4.56 rear end, Hooker headers, and did I mention three four barrel carburetors. With the Mickey Thompsons on it was hard to keep the front end on the ground. One day I will tell you about the 64. |
