Default Todays hike

Went on a short hike today to work the kinks out of a troublesome knee. This is an 18minute flite south of Fairbanks and a place I fly to a lot. I was scrambling across the beaver dam to get to the other side so I could climb the hill and there was a nice little Bullwinkle grazing in the beaver pond. I tried fishing for grayling but they must be upstream spawning. Hiked up onto the hill and had some good views. I love this spot. Unfortunately, the peregrine nest is not occupied this year.

Alaska is one of three states I have yet to visit.... Beautiful, you are very lucky to live in a place like that.

Beautiful! I'm curious about little Bullwinkle. Did he run off with Rocky or stay put while you were hiking?

He watched me stumble across the beaver dam for a bit then eventually went across the pond and into the woods for a bit then came back into the pond once I was across and up the hill a ways. You can see him in the third picture taken from up on the hill. I think Rocky stayed out of sight...

Yes! I see him. He's oblivious to you.
