My maternal grandfather used these loads for dove in the late 60’s and early 70’s in the 1881 W&C Scott I have now . Simple reason they were the only factory loads that could be found around here . To be honest he killed far more hawks with that gun then he did dove .

Lead #4 Super 10 loads last a long time. In 1985, I bought an Ithaca NID No. 2 Super 10 from Randy Shuman, and that year Winchester dropped the sole remaining 2 7/8 inch Super 10 load from their offerings. Remington had dropped the Super 10 a few years before. I bought all the Super 10 shells Potomac Arms had at their end of season ammo sale, some 24 boxes. I still have these full and a part box --

Why? Because the stock wood has dried out for well over a century and may not be able to withstand the recoil of these loads. And a split stock head is not something pleasant to deal with. Still, it's your gun... |

He is if I remember correctly was or is running a small gun business out of his home . Think he had to wait five years after he sold the business in town before he could sell again in that area . I was told that was in the agreement when he sold the place .
