Default PGCA Binders - Disappointing Decision

According to the recent issue of PP's the PGCA binders will only be available at the Annual Meeting. Well, not everybody who might want a binder may be able to attend the Annual Meeting.....poor decision on someone's part. Reason given, is that postage is too high. An easy fix would be to price the binders at a given price plus postage. I for one am willing to pay whatever the postage might cost as I don't anticipate making an annual meeting in the forseeable future. I hope thoses involved in making this decision will reconsider and make a public announcement of it on this site. I'll place an immediate order and of course, pay the postage......thank you...... Well said Carl.

I am quite certain you are not alone.

Can the binders be sent "media mail" if an issue of Parker Pages is inserted? Media Mail is very inexpensive, or has been in the past.

That's a good idea Bill. Another option would be to have someone attending pick up what you need and ship them to you. I'm willing to do that for ya Carl.

Default Disappointing Decision Regarding PGCA Binders

Bill and others, thanks for your thoughts. It's obvious that some other step rather than discontinuing shipment could have been taken.
Bruce, I find it even more disappointing that the "Board" in its collective wisdom would arrive at such a decision. It appears our organization is like most others in that when one gets tired of doing a particular job after a period of time we find reasons to discontinue said job rather than hand it off to someone else. High postage is a convenient excuse; I'm sure folks who wish to purchase a PGCA Binder can well afford the postage. To put someone else at inconvenience to pick up a Binder and take care of mailing it at a later date seems rather imposing. I'm sure we don't sell the binders in large volume throughout the year and I suspect that now sales will dwindle further. I find it interesting that we expect other vendors to take care of mailing their products but we are unwilling internally to measure up to our expectations. Enough said, perhaps too much said; we live by the decisions of our Board.

Perhaps too much indeed. Quite a condemnation of a BOD of very dedicated volunteers.

Carl, the Board of Directors has at least one opening a year. Throw your hat in.

Default Disappointment To Elation In Less Than 24 Hours

The Binder situation has been resolved. Many thanks to Bill Mullins for his demonstrated Service Leadership in bringing a solution to the table. Bill, I really appreciate your telephone call this evening regarding the binder issue. Thanks for taking the time to dig out my number and call. It's great when things come together and you're the one who has made it possible. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.....Best regards, Carl Beers
