Default Parker 12 ga DHE

After removing the forend and barrel to clean the bores, I put the barrel back in but could not get the forend back on. I could not get it to seat on the receiver which means the barrel lug could not seat into the forend. Anyone ever have this issue? Any ideas how to fix?

With the forend held in place with your hand, you can open the the barrels slightly to see if it will then pop on. If not, you may need to check the ejector hammers on the forend. If they are in the fired position, you'll need to cock (reset) them. This can be done with a piece of wood. Push on the end of the hammers until they lock back. It's easier to do one at a time, but both can be done at once too.

Likely the ejector hammers are tripped and need to be manually cocked.

Be very careful when resetting the ejector hammers or the forend wood can be damaged.

There are several incorrect ways to attempt the task.
