Can't say I really care for the gauge mates !
Kolar AAA's were great in my old Krieghoff K-32 and the little Briley short tubes worked okay in my Browning Superposed .

I've been shooting the 3/4oz loads for quite some time now - maybe 2 years. I can remember going from 1 1/8 to 1 oz, then to 7/8, and now 3/4. Everytime I've always thought " jee, that's less shot, how am I gonna hit anything ?" But it doesn't seem to make any difference. The Gaugemates seem to work just fine. I found out the hard way - just buy the cheaper silver ones, not the gold. The Golds are another $100 and all you get is a nice cloth case, a couple of brushes, and a little tool for pulling the GM's out of the chambers. The Silvers can be ground down around the ring that goes in the rim part of the chamber [ like the Golds are ]. That way you don't have to remove them to get a shell out. I never figured out why GM doesn't make them both the same. Big Ten Friend and I both use them all the time with no problems. Charlie, have you ground yours down ? Sure makes them easier to use. Oh, beat all the other guys again today with my Parker - of course they were handicapped shooting those O/Us and autos - you'd think they'd see the light by now.

Unfortunately, Gaugemate has chosen to discontinue their line of Silver adapters. I went on their website to buy a couple sets of 12s-16s a couple weeks ago and found out they no longer have them. Same for the 10-12 adapters. They only have limited stock in some of the gauges.
If anyone is looking, it appears that Little Skeeters http://www.littleskeeters.com/index.html are still available in 10-12 but no 12-16. Cheers, Marcus

Paul,
My 1881 Lifter 10 gauge has .030 in each barrel as well. I love it and have the Gauge Mates. Harry |
