Default Information Available

Would any information be available in a research letter that would be any different than what would appear in the book "Parker Gun Identification and Serialization? I have a DH grade gun #99950 that has a barrel marked Vulcan Steel and a DHE # 130758 that barrel is also marked Vulcan Steel and it has dogs head butt plate. It has a BTF and a pistol grip stock. The serialization book says it should have a straight stock and does not mention the BTF. I am wondering if these guns could have been returned to factory for replacement barrels or were some D grade guns supplied with Vulcan steel barrels and the DHE restocked. The guns were part of a five gun collection I recently acquired. The other three are all what they appeared to be. Thanks for any help.

Records show different info than the current condition of the guns.

Vulcan Steel barrels on a DH or DHE would only have been by special order.

Would it state in records that gun was ordered that way? Seems odd I ran into two in same small collection.

The Serialization Book is accurate and is based on the Stock Book entry. The Order Book for this gun is missing. A letter would only state what you find in the Serialization Book plus stock dimensions and weight

If you post good pictures of the guns including good sharp, in focus, pictures of the barrel flats, the rib legends, and serial numbers on the left side of the barrel lug we could tell you a lot more about those barrels.

Serial number 130758 is of 1905 vintage, more than a decade before beavertail forearms were offered.

Yes I understand Beavertail forearm was not original trying to determine if it was sent back to factory for new stock and single select trigger that appears to be Parker trigger.
