Tulsa Time
Huge crowds at the Wanamacher Tulsa Gun Show yesterday, but sales were slow, lots of tire kickers I was told, but few people who were willing to do more than talk. Not many Parkers there, fewer than previous years and most dealers say people are hanging on to their good guns. Jay Shachter may have had the nicest Parkers there, with an outstanding little 20ga VH, not messed with like so many, and listed at $7200. Jason from Puglisi's came, but did not bring a single Parker. Steve Barnett was there with two Parkers, one a D grade non safety 20ga. Other dealers were Bob Skeuse, Willoughby and McCade or whatever the name of that new Dallas dealer is, lots of dealers who were generally disappointed in sales. There was a B there , heavy 12ga 3", a 12ga C with interesting bottom plate engraving that has made the rounds and I had seen before. I heard that a nice two barrel D grade set sold Fri to another dealer.
There were two 410's there, Shachter had a nice Rem Parker VHE, slim beavertail skeet, SST, checkered butt, asking $35,000. Steve Barnett had a decent mid 1920's V , some CC's left, asking $26,000 for the person who needs a 410.
Brought back two outstanding A&F vc cases for friends, one a rare two barrel set case, the other a single double set up for 32" barrels, both uncommon in A&F cases.
More mil stuff ( junk), jerky and knife stuff, worn western gear, black guns, paintball guns, cheap jewelry, Nazi stuff, Vietnam era stuff. You know during the Vietnam War, we had a hard time keeping the men in proper uniform, now the same guys want to wear the uniform or parts of it.
