So last Wednesday I shot one of my favorite Model 12's at Rock Mountain per the "Super Sporting" menu with 17 stations and three traps per station. My gang really likes that SS format, three report pairs: AB, BC, AC. Then yesterday I shot a Baker SBT gun on the same course/menu but each bird on call. OK, birds on call are easier than the second bird of report pairs but the Baker is choked X-Full and I was shooting 7/8 ounce loads vs. the Winny with Mod choke and 1-ouncers on Wednesday. Had a long run of 72 birds and ended up +4 birds as compared with Wednesday.
Have a vintage single trap gun? You might try it on a Sporting course for something new. Yah it will raise some eyebrows
This is a ~ 1915 Baker Sterling, 32-inch and choked X-Full, the cheekpiece was added in the distant past and I redid a wood split repair on the forend, but otherwise original. She really smokes 'em.
