Default Season Coming to an End

I'm heading to Winnipeg for Christmas. I'm still debating hunting there and back but haven't yet decided. I did get out yesterday. Charlie and Kyra did admirable work. I have been missing more than hitting for some reason lately. Maybe it is the heavy mit/glove or maybe wind or maybe cold or maybe I'm not that good a wing shot. Ended the day with 2 roosters and 2 huns but should surely have had my 3 roosters. One of the huns is full credit to Charlie. Found it in a roosting spot and caught it before it flushed. I got the other one, which Charlie retrieved nicely from heavy cover. Just another great Saskatchewan winter's day along the frozen creeks with my favorite Parker game getting GHE Damascus 12ga Cheers, Jack

Thanks. I'm doing okay. Operating the camera with gloves/mits is almost more of a challenge than stuffing the trigger finger into the guard and onto a trigger. Add to that a dog in motion and I end up with this

Get that Saxton out befor the end of season. I'm going tomorrow I think I'll dust off the VHE 16 skeet.

Merry X-Mass Dad!

maybe the gun and the camera both have itchy trigger fingers.

These particular shots are with a little Panasonic Lumix. When I get really carried away, I use a Canon EOS 30D and sometimes give that a little kick with a telephoto lens. When hunting, the little Lumix fits in the pocket along with #4 Canucks that I found last year. Old guns, old ammo, old guys - kind of a natural combo.
